GAUDETTE SUNDAY : JOY!
The Shepherd’s Candle is the third candle which is pink or rose. It represents Gaudette Sunday and the joy that the birth of Christ brought to the world. Traditionally, on Gaudette Sunday one takes a break from Advent fasting to experience the joy of the day.
Sometime today….may you feel JOY ! No matter what is going on in our world may we even for a moment experience the Good News …..
“Come and see, come and see
He is laying in the straw
He’s a new baby boy
Who’s the hope of us all
Come and hear, come and hear
It’s a sound both sweet and strange
It’s the great love of God
In the cry of a babe” ( Carolyn Arends)
…….. And feel the joy that comes from God . He is near. He is here ….. come and see!
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5)
