HOME
HOME! JUST SEEING THE ‘WELCOME TO ALBERTA’ SIGN MADE ME FEEL A BIT EMOTIONAL TODAY. ONCE AGAIN WE FELT PROTECTED AS THE ROADS WERE PRETTY DRY AND THE TRAFFIC LIGHT.
WE STOPPED FOR A NICE LUNCH AT JOEY’S ( LETTUCE WRAPS) WHEN WE GOT TO TOWN AND IT TOOK A LOOOOOONG TIME TO UNPACK THE CAR.
IT TOOK US HOURS TO PUT INSTRUMENTS, ETC. , AWAY AND TO GO THROUGH OUR MAIL. I STILL HAVEN’T UNPACKED MY SUITCASE BUT THAT CAN WAIT TILL TOMORROW.
WE DECIDED THAT WE WOULD STILL ENJOY A ‘FRIDAY NIGHT DATE’ SO WE RELAXED FOR AWHILE AND ENJOYED ” THE GOOD LIAR “.
THEN WE HIT THE GROCERY STORE AND RESTOCKED THE MANY BARE SHELVES IN OUR BEAUTIFUL HOME.
MY SISTER, PAULA DREW, HAD THE HOUSE LOOKING IMMACULATE DESPITE RECENT RENOVATIONS AFTER OUR SUMMER FLOOD AND HER OWN BUSY SCHEDULE. SHE IS AN ANGEL AND I CAN’T THANK HER ENOUGH FOR EVEN DOING OUR LAUNDRY ( AFTER COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF DRYWALL DUST COVERED EVERY SURFACE ) SO THAT WE WOULD HAVE FRESH SHEETS ON OUR BED TONIGHT. OUR FRIDGE WAS SPOTLESS TOO !
AND SPEAKING OF RENOVATIONS I NEED TO RECOMMEND AQUARIAN RENOVATIONS ONCE AGAIN FOR THE AMAZING JOB THEY DID TO FIX OUR HOME AFTER THE FREAK SUMMER RAINS THAT CAME ON TOO FAST AND OVERFLOWED OUR WINDOW WELLS .
WE ALSO WANT TO THANK HER AND OUR DAUGHTER , EMILY, AND HER PARTNER, GEOFF FOR TAKING CARE OF OUR PLANTS. HOME IS WHERE I WANT TO BE RIGHT NOW. ( FUNNY THAT SOON WE WILL BE CALLED TO LEAVE AGAIN…. AH WELL …SUCH IS LIFE!)
FOR NOW I AM JUST LOOKING FORWARD TO CRAWLING INTO OUR VERY OWN BED FOR PROBABLY THE BEST SLEEP IN TWO MONTHS.
