EnJOYing Being Around Dear Friends.
It took us three tries but we finally were able to make it happen. We had the pleasure of getting together with our wonderful friends, Louise and Guy Croome, recently.
They cancelled once for health reasons, then we all cancelled as Christmas calendars became too full. Then we got Covid. Ugh.
It was a wonderful, cozy reunion at their home for a “southern chicken and black eyed peas “ dinner with fresh breads, coleslaw, delightful red wine, and homemade chocolate/peanut butter dipped cherries!
We ended the evening with a rousing game of ‘Wizard’ and filled the evening with stories, joy, and much laughter.
The next day I had the pleasure of a lovely visit from my dear friend, Cathy. We always have lots of great conversations usually accompanied by coffees and we are very similar in personalities.
Funnily enough, we finally discovered something that is in the ‘polar opposites’ department. On her way over she asked me if I would like her to bring me a ‘Starbucks’ and I replied that I ‘hate’ Starbucks. ha ha. Then I asked her if she could switch her coffee destination to “Tim Hortons’ and she replied, “ I hate Tim Horton’s.” ha ha ha.
We settled for tea at my house….(until Terry showed up with a Timmie’s for me!)
Cathy and her husband, David, have a beautiful home and I will include photos that Cathy took of her pretty back yard, a giant pileated wood-pecker, and a cute gnome that she created to add to her ‘winter people’ in their front yard. Cathy and David are just about to take an online course about the tools of Storytelling. Cool!
I sang my newest song for her just before she had to depart. We DID have the most lovely afternoon.
A week for visits! The following day, I finally got to deliver my belated Christmas gifts into the arms of my dear friend, “Shorty”!
We had coffee, a slice of sweet bread that she brought, and some good chats about life and British T.V. …ha ha. I love that lady.
