Off To Canmore

Terry had some meetings with one of the board groups of which he belongs and I asked if I could tag along.

It was slightly scary when our first dump of snow came in just a couple days before this big road trip but on the day we left the sun was shining and the roads were fairly clear.

We got on our way just after our morning meetings, (he with friends and then a golf lesson, me : the pool), car packed, coffees in hand.

After our prayers and chatting we were able to finish our delightful audiobook “Crazy To Leave You” . We both had a lot of laughs in this sweet story about family and a woman’s search for love and strength after she gets jilted at the altar.

The trip went smoothly and we pulled into our hotel “The Malcolm” at around 5 pm after leaving home around 1:30.

King Malcolm ( ceann mor) Gaelic for great warrior or “Canmore”…. was the inspiration for the hotel name. And it was a beautiful hotel.

Terry had to pretty much leave right away for his first meeting with dinner so after I got our room set up (you just can’t believe the infrastructure we have to travel with now because of my arthritis….) I went down to the bar/restaurant to get myself some dinner.

I had a caesar salad and a french onion soup. ( just o.k.)

I checked out the pool and hottub….outside….brrrrrrrrr.

Terry’s got meetings tomorrow but after lunch the weekend is ours!

To be continued…..
