A Time For Friends And Family Too
We had another joyful birthday celebration one day. Our godchild, Alexandra, turned 30 AND just happened to be in town!
So, her mama, Bev, took the ferry in from Sidney and we decided to meet them at our favourite pie place and restaurant ….Aphrodite’s.
How wonderful to have Heather pop in for a coffee too! Terry and R were there as well and we all had a wonderful catch up.
One evening we had the extreme pleasure of being invited over to Terry sister, Laurie and her partner, Karen’s home for an incredible, mouth watering steak dinner.
Their adorable doggie, “Happy” was with us and she is being trained by Karen to do tricks at an obedience school. It was so great to see them after our flight back to Windsor together. We had lots to talk about and ended the evening with a fun game of Wizard!
Finally, one morning I met up with dear Heather again for breakfast and our old friend, Keith, popped over to be with us!
All 3 of us met in Heather’s Calgary company, “M & M For Kids” in Calgary over 35 years ago and all of us worked in theatre and the movie business for years. Keith still does and is a brilliant creator of latex creatures, etc. and is still an actor as well. Keith just lost a parent so we had deep conversations but lots of laughs as well. After breakfast, we met up again at this incredible vintage store called “Burcu’s” and met the funny if quirky owner who truly knows her stuff. She sells to the movie business, theatres, the general public, and anyone who is just looking for a unique find.
It was a great visit and I even found some vintage ties for my guy.
Check out Heather’s hilarious new hat ….and a photo of some of my family back in Ontario that day who got to experience the eclipse.
