Return Trip Home

We had a lovely , meandering drive home instead of just taking the straight highway route.

It seems funny that two sisters could find so much to talk about for two whole days together constantly but the conversations were always fun and we are very similar in so many ways …including that we both love road trips and taking photos too.

We both also enjoy taking photographs of old barns and buildings so when I saw a farmstead with dilapidated buildings peeking over one hill I decided to veer off and check it out.

We both had another laugh at this one, sad birdhouse that said,” Welcome to the Purple Martin Sanctuary” but when we drove all the way up the incline it really was a protected space for these birds with massive purple martin bird houses .The joke was on us.

We didn’t see anyone around so we took a chance and grabbed some shots of the farmyard. We heard and saw a large rooster calling out the alarm that people were on his property but we continued to walk around and enjoy the scenery including a paddock for lots of sheep.

The sheep were bleating, the pigeons were cooing in their cages, and the martins were flying every which way while the sun pressed down on our heads. Time to get back into the air conditioned car.

The rest of our journey home included more conversations, laughs, and 2 “Timmies” ice caps. Yum.

Thanks for reading. And thanks to Paula for the wonderful “Sisters Weeknight Away”.
