Time With Our Wee One
Our daughter-in-law had us book off some time with our youngest grandson each week. When the weather was good we would take him to the beach. Didn’t matter if he was skipping stones or dancing, playing “boot frisbee”, or just playing at the playground or in the sand. He loves it there and we love to be there with him.
It was his idea to collect rocks during our walk and turn them into things (mostly family members). He also is incredible at putting together huge puzzles.
For one of our days together I found this cool craft idea ….hopeful that the sun would return….and it DID! ( We had a lot of rain in April.)
We walked along the streets and collected leaves and various flower petals. Then we found some nice, outdoor picnic tables and sat down with our ‘treasures’. We had borrowed a hammer from his mama so I removed the card stock I brought and we proceeded to gently hammer the leaves and petals onto the paper. Of course it didn’t work like in the video I saw but it worked well enough when we found the right flowers and leaves. The dark petals worked best. Then Terry had the idea of taking a pen and loosely outlining some of them.
Finally, we helped “R” to write a lovely note for Easter for his parents. I want to do more of this craft. It looked quite cool don’t you think?
