Laurier Park Walk
We have a lovely park fairly near our home (and near the Zoo) called Laurier.
Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park, more commonly known as Laurier Park, is located in Edmonton's west end. Situated on the north bank of the river, the park extends from Whitemud Drive in the west to Buena Vista Drive in the east. The park is named after Canada’s eighth Prime Minister, Sir Wilfrid Laurier. Numerous picnic sites, two natural playgrounds and a boat launch are just a few of the amenities for users to enjoy. Coffee in hand I set out on the circular path and took a few photos of the pretty, natural terrain along my way.
I know a lot of you who have dogs walk every day, but I must admit my pain level is so high these days that it takes a force of my will power to talk myself into one.
But this day the sun inspired me to get out and do it!
I’m very happy that I don’t have allergies because it is “cottonwood” season and the path looked like it had snow on it in some areas.
I was enjoying seeing all the families taking full advantage of the nice, asphalt pathways from bikers to friends walking together and having good conversations.
As you most likely know, I love to pray while I’m walking. It connects me to the Spirit in another way besides thanksgiving for the beauty God created for us and I feel happy.
“Walking is the exact balance between spirit and humility.”
