The Friend Who Cares

WHAT WOULD I DO WITHOUT MY BEST FRIENDS? IF ONE GOOD THING HAS COME OUT OF COVID IT IS THE ABILITY TO “ZOOM” EVERY WEEK WITH MY ‘BESTIES’.

WE NOW LIVE IN FOUR DIFFERENT CITIES IN CANADA : EDMONTON, CALGARY, TECUMSEH, AND WATERLOO BUT WE HAVE KNOWN EACH OTHER SINCE HIGH SCHOOL.

DO YOU HAVE A BEST FRIEND?

ROSEMARY PASSED THE FOLLOWING ON TO US AND I THINK IT SAYS A LOT ABOUT HOW TO BE A FRIEND….

                      The Friend Who Cares
By Henry Nouwen

When we honestly ask ourselves which persons in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving much advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a gentle and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not-knowing, not-curing, not-healing, and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is the friend who cares.
I AM SO BLESSED TO HAVE THESE CARING FRIENDS IN MY LIFE.

You are very blessed to have good friends to talk to every week. To answer your question: Unfortunately, I do not.
